Quick Simple work day shave. Decided to pick up on stuff I haven’t used in a while.
Proraro Red with its wonderful Indian Sandalwood and the MJ-90A which is a better DE89 than the EJDE89.
Smooth, fantastic Perfect BBS shave.
So I had to break the #OneSoapOneBlade week a day early to take advantage of the off day for a Kamisori shave. As with many things, while learning something, I’d prefer not to rush and especially not when its a really sharp blade against my throat and face.
Going with Don’s Tallow Grey’s Vetiver, backed by PAA’s Cube, not that I think Don’s soap needs it but just layering on the slick. 😁
This time I went through all passes with the Kamisori except for ATG under the nose. The shave surprised me with how clean it was, almost BBS when I was done with it. You really need to use “negative” pressure and go with a gentle touch.
The odd thing when shaving with the Kamisori is how you feel, actually feel how tough your grow really is and the resistance it does give when hair meets blade and how you really need to resist “forcing” the shave, which could lead to too much pressure and giving yourself a nasty cut. (Did this in the past)
Did the final clean up and ATG under the nose with the Oren.
Will highly recommend if you want to learn the Kamisori, using it with the Feather Pro Guard blades would be a good idea. I am pretty sure the guarded blades prevented a nick or two when I was setting the blade to skin.
As it is, Perfect Shave.
No cuts, nicks (mostly due to the Pro Guard blades), irritation glass BBS.
Lazy off day shave, going to be staying home, so not going the full monty and since I am still on the OnesoapOneblade week, not using the Kamisori but I think I’ll break early and use that tomorrow.
My Assassin though, especially with the Bic, performed as she should.
Perfect glass, no cuts, no nicks, no weeper, no irritation BBS.
Faceturbation worthy!
Bought out the old gal this time and with the Bic, it’s smooth as silk, takes off everything without too much fuss for a perfect glass BBS shave.

#OneSoapOneBladeWeek **PAA Al Fin and The Sword of Achilles, Bic Chrome Platinum**
As I was prepping for the One Soap, One Blade week, I decided that it might as well be a PAA Full Monty for the first honorary shave.
And for that it’ll have to go to my first love from PAA and still one of my top 3 PAA scents, Al Fin.
I almost went with Cold Spice but Douglas hasn’t put out the solid cologne for it … yet.
As expected from the CATA-DOC especially with the Bic blade, perfect no cuts, no nicks, no irritation, true glass, squeaky clean BBS shave.
Truly Faceturbation worthy!
And smelling EPICALLY AWESOME!

Another fast “oh my god I need to rush to work” shave

Work day shave.
Decided on TOBS Cedarwood as I haven’t used it for a long while.
I love TOBS scents and they do however make truly awesome lather but performance is so so depending from batch to batch, scent to scent.
That’s where PAA’s Cube comes in. Everything is “Artisan” (almost CK-6) level when paired with the cube.
Going with the more aggressive Tatara configuration today.
Sometimes I can’t decide if I like this better than the Masamune Plate + Nodachi Cap config.
And was reminded that no matter how familiar you are with a razor, all it takes is a bit of inattention and accidents can happen.
Yup.
I got myself just under the lower lip.
Wasn’t paying attention was a little fast and the more aggressive gap got me!
Which is why even though if you don’t think you’ll need it, have an alum block and a styptic pencil on hand.
Still, sans the little accident, I got my true glass clean BBS shave.
Faceturbation worthy.
Country is still under limited lock down. Kinda weird with just how quiet things are.

Simple off day shave, decided to take the Model T for a spin pairing it with the Derby Extra, which are my one shave blades. (shave once, and recycle)
Beautiful razor though it’s positive blade exposure means that I don’t use it as much as I’d like.
You do feel quite a bit of blade on the skin and you really do need to remember to apply “negative” pressure.
That is holding the razor so that it barely touches your skin.
Wasn’t a perfect shave, as it did left a weeper with the blade somehow taking a tiny bite that I didn’t notice.
Still, I did get my BBS and alum application sorted the weeper out.

Was a very warm night, the night before so I knew I wanted a cold shave in the morning. Left an uncorked filled scuttle in the freezer overnight to let it ice up. On hind sight I should have filled it mostly with cold water first and add in hot water on top but not full to allow for freezing expansion and to allow the ice to form from the bottom up so that the spout area would not freeze seal itself.
Next time.

IT WAS GLORIOUS!
Ice cold lather never felt so good.
Tropical balmy nights, waking up to a 30°c morning at 0630hrs, cold is good.
It’s almost a crime how smooth the shave felt, with barely any resistance resistance and your only concern when using the Tatara is to resist pressing down because you almost don’t feel anything.
And with a a little skin stretching, my beautiful assassin worked her magic and left a perfect no irritation, no cuts, no weepers, true glass BBS shave.
