Fantastic low key compliment getter and even if you get none, its still very enjoyable to wear and WSP’s Gaelic Tweed is one of my favorites for both performance and scent.

Choose to go with the Nodachi Base + Masamune plate along with the Bic today for an extremely close but still comfortable shave.
A little more care needs to be given to this configuration as it is much more aggressive than with the Masamune Base config.

Perfect, extremely comfortable BBS shave.

Time for one of the best Bay Rum scented soap in the market.
Love this stuff.

Took out the Model T, I have worked out most of the kinks, and as long as I check to ensure proper blade sitting and alignment, which this time I had to reset to get the blade to sit evenly, its more than a decent razor.
There’s quite a bit of blade feel, but zero pressure and a light touch made for a clean and very, very close BBS shave.

And Of course, anyone who has used PAA’s Atomic Age Bay Rum Aftershave knows what to expect next.
“Whhhhhhooooooohoooohooooooooo!”
The burn is real.

Woke up a little late so I decided to go with a fast and easy shave.
Thayer’s shave cream is a brushless type, though you can use a brush to apply.
Just smear on face and go. Works surprisingly well.
Post shave is astonishing good though.

Tatara and Bic results in the usual perfect shave.

Hivernant’s scent is as pleasant as the soap itself.
Good slick lather, good residual and post shave.
As at the time, the matching AS wasn’t available, I made my own for this one with a simple rum and witch hazel mix, scented very lightly with eucalyptus and tea tree EOs.

This is the second batch as the first one I think I used too much dark rum and EO that it didn’t quite felt right.
This time though, very much liking the scent and feel. Just enough rum that it lingers, just enough menthol, eucalyptus and tea tree that it smelled and felt medicinal going onto the face. No drying, no stickiness.

The Tatara and Bic combo again left only squeaky clean no cut, no weeper, perfect BBS.

Though while being an off day, I didn’t pick up the Kamisori and instead went with the Tatara just because of soap and razor combo’s “Shave of the day” tag.
Who doesn’t love Pirates and Ninjas?!

I just wanted to use Blackbeard, which not only smells fantastic, it lathers like a champ and the Tatara default Masamune is more a Ninja with its hidden blade than a Samurai.

WSP’s Blackbeard’s fantastic tobacco cherry meets the smoothest razor I have yet used, armed with the Sword of Achilles, no surprise that it was a perfect, no irritation BBS shave.
Though I need to point out that the default Masamune if you drop in a that is not equal to a Feather, Nacet or the Bic, you might not get a BBS shave or you might get irritation due to the fairly negative blade exposure it has.

But with a good blade in there, there is hardly any blade feel at all and resisting the urge to press down (which would be a really bad thing) would be the hardest thing you need to do during the shave.

With the Bic though, shave was epic. (YMMV)

Well the next best thing is lathering up with Seafarer and wearing Bvlgari AQVA Atlantiqve

Occam’s Oren Nano is one of the smoothest yet excellent performer for me.
The floating blade rides soft, so it’s comfortable as heck and because these blades are sharp as heck as well, took off growth (and if you are careless, skin, flesh and blood) with little effort.

Perfect comfortable shave.

WTF’s Vintage Barbershop smells absolutely fantastic and it blends into and compliment Zaharoff’s Signature Pour Homme EDP.

So right off the bat, we are off to an epic start with the scent and to close the deal, I have the Tatara in the Nodachi-Plate + Masamune Cap configuration.
This has the much more aggressive 0.90mm gap so it’ll take growth off in a hurry.
Even so, with the blade’s exposure just a tad in the negative, it’s a very smooth shave.

The Zaza blade though isn’t as sharp as the blades I have used recently, in particular, the Bic and Feathers. There is slight tugging, just a tad.
It’ll still take growth off well enough, though if you are the sort to shave without prepping a tough beard, I think this isn’t the blade for you.

Perfect, easy shave and with that just a touch of menthol in the soap, made for a refreshing shave.

I thought I’d use the Old Battle Axe, the Rockwell 6S.
I am lucky that for the most part I can use almost any blade with little to no issues, so going again with the Treet blades.
I do however only use these blades as one day blades. (Before work, after work)

Soap smells great, a good reproduction of the Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, which is an oceanic scent.
Blue scents are kind of an odd bird, you either like it, or you don’t.
I know that for some, the salt, ozone and green notes can be a put off but others it comes off fresh like a cool morning walk by the beach.

Decided to pull out the Matriarch Dowager, the old Merkur 34CHD.
Still looks brand new.
A little wash and a clean, and its ready to go!

And I forgot just how mild this razor is. Very gentle and smooth, and I think for the more experienced, may be lulled into putting more pressure on the blade to skin then you need to.
As long as you resist that, and let the blade ride the lather, it’s an easy, clean, fantastic shave.

Compared to the MJ-90A, the MJ-90A still wins out on price but both would be great first razors and for some, their only ones before deciding to jump into the Razor rabbit hole.
