Time for some bay rum! PAA’s Atomic Age Bay Rum is probably the best Bay Rum I have yet used. Something about it just gels with my scent preferences.
Brought out the old battleaxe and she still performs like a charm. Decided to go with the R4 Plate this time with a corked Feather Blade. Zero weepers, zero irritation (no surprise there with the Cube and CK6), perfect true glass BBS. 0300hrs and off to work!

I actually had this one planned for St Patrick’s day but kind of forgot about it (it’s not a celebrated where I am) so I’m doing it for my off day shave.
I do love Green Irish Tweed though so yeah, Full Monty baby! WSP’s take on GIT is actually pretty much spot on, and way better than that Armaf stuff, but scents are more so YMMV than shaving is so, take that as you will.
The shave itself, given that I used my beautiful Assassin and a Bic, was a real pleasure. The Sharp eyed would have noticed something VERY different about my Hidden Assassin, She’s not using the normal Tatara handle!
Tatara got in touch with me and corrected a misconception, the Nodachi cap can take normal handles! There is a very slight wiggle room laterally without the blade but once you drop in a blade its easily aligned and once you tightened it up, its all good.
(In case you are wondering what is that black ring on Picture 3, that’s a M5 Nylon washer I use to protect the base plate from scratches)
You know what this means?! HEAVIER HANDLES! But at the moment, only if you have a combination of Cap and Plate using the Nodachi Cap. That means at the moment the three options are ; 1) Nodachi Cap + Masamune Solid Bar Plate : 0.63mm gap, True Neutral 0.00mm exposure 2) Nodachi Cap + Masamune Open Comb Plate : 0.73mm gap, 0.05mm Positive Exposure 3) Nodachi Cap + Nodachi Solid Bar Plate : 090mm gap, 0.13mm Positive Exposure.

Been awhile since I used Solstice. Missed that Earthy, herbaceous scent. Cube is overkill on slickness but hey, use the best buffing razor with with it on top of a PAA soap and it’s a guaranteed path to squeaky clean glass BBS shave. The Bic Chrome Platinum blade just made it all too easy.

One of my favorite Creed scents Silver Mountain Water. Fresh, crisp and refreshing. Again I have paired it with an Al Haramain Scent, which this time is a slight departure from the Regular L’Aventure / L’Aventure Knight both which are very true to the scents that they clone. Blanche differed in that it is slightly more floral, feminine perhaps, but holy crap, I do prefer this which has a good deal of the Silver Mountain Water DNA intact but chose to go floral in lieu of the more tart Green Tea note. LOVE IT.
18 shaves on the Feather Professional Blade. 18. That’s nuts for me. And only now seems to start to dull though not very noticeable. Results are still Glass BBS and this razor has been the most comfortable I have used so far. This shave did take a little more strokes required, the razor being more mild than aggressive but I have yet to have irritation from using it.

Aventus Day! Love or hate the scent, it still smells fantastic. Paired with Al Haramain’s L’Aventure Knight which I think is one of the best Aventus clone for the money. Keeping it affordable yeah? You could of course splurge about $340+/- on a Creed but been there, done that, this is good enough. 😁
Copper Ascension and Bic feels great as always. Feather touch, and with PAA’s CK6’s glide that is made for bufffing, she leaves only true glass BBS, no irritation, no weepers, just a perfect shave. Epic.

Another fast Quick and Easy work day shave. Staying on the “Blue” aquatic theme from yesterday, decided to go with Vision, though instead of Bvlgari Aqua, I went with Dolce & Gabana Light Blue Eau Intense EDP. Fantastic fresh shave.
The Copper Ascension did it’s thing, weight is perfect and without any added took to hair growth like hot knife on butter. Its not the smoothest of my razors but she does her job well. Soap and blade danced leaving nothing but glass BBS skin behind. No irritation, no weepers. That’s a win win in my book.

Sunday work day shave. Seafarer is the only other Zingari Man soap I have though the scent on this is about a factor weaker then Lothario. I am not sure if my nose has gone scent blind but I could barely detect anything, a bit of the sat and vetiver, but just barely. Great performance though.
Fast and easy shave with the Oren, 14th use on the blade and it still doesn’t feel like its dull yet, or if it is going , it’s still able to perform. Good edge on these things. Usual no irritation clean glass BBS shave.

Easy shave with Zingari Man’s Lothario. Love this scent! Though it has been a while since I used it. I haven’t seen this in the new Sego Formula, shame, though I really need to try Heather’s other scents. The only other Zingari Man I have is Seafarer. I am thinking maybe Magician, though I see she has Blacksmith out now. Amber, Leather and Spice, Oh my! That is right up my alley!
Coming off from the Bic Chrome Platinum blade I could tell that the USTA has more resistance. Not tuggy, but nothing like the hot blade on butter feel that you get with the Bic. Not that it’s not performing, it’s actually quite good all things considering, just not Bics. But since the USTAs are my “One day blades”, it doesn’t really matter. End results was still a perfect BBS shave with zero irritation, zero weepers.
I don’t know if its me, but I am starting to not like Clubman’s Brandy Spice AS as much as their Whiskey Woods version. I think its just a tad less “sweet”, but luckily, the scent from Lothario’s balm mellowed out the scent of the AS for me. Good stuff.
I might experiment with adding a little something to a 30ml Decant of Brandy Spice and see if I’ll like the scent better. 😀 (Menthol and Rum! And maybe a drop or two of EO that I haven’t decided yet)
Waste not, want not. Using up my Prorasos, and if I made more lather than I can use, meh… squeezing it out like I’m a YouTuber. 🤣
Really, really love this combination of Masamune Plate and Nodachi Cap with the Bic, the Sword of Achilles. She’s The Hidden Blade.
Gap is just nice, really easy to find the working angle, barely any feel of the blade, even able to run over a slightly pimpled area without drawing blood, though I was very careful around that area, and best of all, leaving a clean, true glass, zero irritation BBS with a little help by stretching the skin.

Decided to go with something classic in every sense of the word. Guerlain Vetiver. LOVE that Tobacco, Citrus and Vetiver accord gotta use the old juice.
Went with the Nodachi Plate / Masamune Cap / Bic pairing and face feels clean as frack. Slow, easy, luxurious shave. Did have a weeper from a pimpled area, zero irritation, true glass BBS skin left behind. And smelling like old school money. Loving it!
